San Lorenzo in Banale, a village situated at 800 mts, boasts an awesome position which overlooks the Sarca valley. This location is ideal for relaxation and revitalization and is one of the gateways to the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. The Casa del Parco ( home of the park) , better known here as C’era una Volta ( once upon a time), safe guards the memory of the rural culture of the area.
The village centre is characterized by the presence of votive tabernacles and the recently restored Casa Osei – a 17th century building that now hosts a permanent ethnographic exhibition.
San Lorenzo in Banale was recently acknowledged by the TCI as one of the most beautiful villages of Italy ( as was the nearby village of Rango).
An old road leads to the minute dwellings of Moline and Deggia, nestled in enchanted surroundings.
For sport groups, especially swimming and football, there’s a sports centre with swimming pool and regulation sized foot ball pitch and good accommodation facilities.
The Val d’Ambiez and the Brenta Group are a must for walking enthusiasts .
In Winter, the nearest skiing resort is Andalo, but Pinzolo and Madonna di Campiglio are also easily reached by car.
