This well known Trentino tourist resort offers a variety of mountain surroundings
Madonna di Campiglio, a village nestling at an altitude of 1550 metres in a breathtakingly beautiful valley between the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello and Presanella glaciers, is the most important resort in the Rendena valley and one of the most important resorts in the Trentino Region. Madonna di Campiglio was launched as a tourist resort in the second half of the last century even though it was already a hill station for the Austrian and Middle European aristocratic classes and rich upper middle classes. Princess Sissy and the Emperor, Francesco Giuseppe were amongst its guests. Madonna di Campiglio is well known as a winter resort for ski and winter sports lovers, but it is also a valid summer resort capable of offering many and varied attractions to its visitors, thanks to the optimal accommodation facilities, to the surrounding nature, which offers a unique landscape, and to the numerous activities organized for families and kids. The Dolomites and near-by Adamello Brenta Nature Park offer its guests 450 km of trails and mountain paths, for hikers and mountain bikers. It takes just a few steps out of the village to be in a carousel of lakes, valleys, streams, mountain farms and refuges and all under the watchful eye of the Brenta Dolomites!
